About 6 months ago I started listening around to cello music, because that was when I started to really love the magic of the music the cello creates. I really do like classical pieces, but being a fan of rock, I noticed there was something missing. One day, I noticed Apocalyptica, through a video on YouTube where a guy had composed music on his computer and used images of Apocalyptica, since he used a "cello" in his piece. I got curioused and listened around. Since then, I have written several pieces in class about them, gotten some of their merch (a kick-ass T-shirt, which I am wearing at the time this is being written) and ordered concert tickets with my Dad for France in April '11.
I am a fan because the music this amazing band has created the past almost 2 decades, wakes emotions in you every time. It doesn't matter if it's cover music or original pieces, the love these guys has for what they are doing shines through in every second of a song, and it wakes emotions in you. More than once, I have gone with a severe neck pain for weeks due to all my frantic headbanging. Sometimes, the music has comforted me when I've been sad, and other times, the music has been so beautiful that it has brought me to tears.
I am a fan, and you should be too, because the music the band Apocalyptica makes, is destined to change your point of view on music, for all eternity.
