I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...how many times have you heard a Metallica song played on cello??? These musicians are the most talented and unique people I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. Their stage presence blows me away and I can do nothing but scream and stare in awe with this big goofy smile on my face. There is such depth in their music, original or covers. Eicca is a musical genius; I'm just floored when I listen to the songs he's composed, and I adore watching him play. His precision and sheer mastery of the cello is enough to knock the breath out of me. Not to mention he has the face of an angel, the eyes of Poseidon, and a body like Achilles, only sexier. Mikko is the most insane drummer I have ever seen, and he plays with amazing energy. He's quite funny and has the smile of the sun. Perttu...oh Perttu...what's not to love about Perttu? I've never loved seeing makeup and nail polish on a guy so much before. When he's playing on stage and rocking out, he has passion written all over him. Paavo is so interactive with the crowd during concerts, making eye contact and making everyone excited. He is so animated, it's great. When they play more classical pieces, they all have this calm beauty that falls over them, and I fall in love with them all over again. Antero isn't with them any more, but he was the quiet one with sunglasses that never bounced around stage like the rest....he sat there and played the most insane riffs that I could barely see his fingers moving sometimes. He was the silent awesomeness. I can listen to all of Apocalyptica's songs over and over again and never tire of them....and I've been hooked for 7 years now. You gotta give me credit, I was two when they released their first album, so I am a little behind. But this euphoria over them is still strong, and I highly doubt it will ever stop. Music has always been my life, and Apocalyptica is the blood in my veins and the heart beating in my chest.
