Apocalyptica reveal photo book project!

Apocalyptica have played over 1000 shows in their career and visited more than 50 countries around the world. To give their fans an insight into their world on tour, the band took their friend and photographer Ville Akseli Juurikkala with them to capture the special moments and the everday life during their „7th Symphony Tour“.

The result will be released as a photo book.

But Apocalyptica wants to involve the fans even more, therefore they are cooperating with Pledge Music. Founded in 2008 by musician Benji Rogers, Pledge Music offers artists a structure to make projects possible solely by the direct support of their fans, and at the same time helps raising money for charities. Via so-called “pledges”, the fans ‘promise’ to contribute to a certain project in exchange for an issue of the product as soon as it is finished.

To quote the band:
“You as our fans have always been supportive and now we want to share the process of making this book with you. With every single “pledge”, you not only support the book’s release, but also help raising money for a good cause. In addition, you’ll receive an eBook with images, that didn’t make it to the printed version, and secure the chance of getting special merchandise, signed memorabilia and
exclusive bonus material. And we dug deep to find interesting stuff for you ... Thanks a lot for your support, we hope you’ll like the book as much as we do!”

If I had but one request, it would be more videos for your music. I know, another thing to add to the never ending list of crap to do. I get it, I myself have just unearthed a Mammoth, literally, in my front yard and have found myself alone, trying to dig up its 800lb skull while meeting the deadlines of publishing. But my plee here, is this, when I do put the shovel down and pick up my laptop, I try to inspire the minds of my readers with the music I'm listening to while I write. Then, when I finaly post a portion of my chapter with the music I chose, I find myself slamming my head into the wall numerous times as I go through YouTube trying to find a good video for much of your music, namely "On The Rooftop With Quasi. You make a good video and I'll send you a Mammoth bone...trust me, digging up and preserving these bones probably takes about the same amount of time. Ha! It's a win win situation. Mammoth-Olsen is on Facebook if you'd like to check out the maddness.

I am proud and honored to be participating in this pledge project, and I consider it a once in a lifetime deal that shouldn't be missed for anything. Not only do you get to help them give money to charity and are working with them and other Apocalyptica supporters towards a common goal, but you have this opportunity to obtain something that is completely priceless and that will be potentially kept forever with fond memories. I pledged on an autographed photobook and one of Paavo's stunning pictures of the guys, and these are things that will always have meaning to me and that I will keep around no matter what. I had no doubt that they would make their goal, and since I am aware of all of the fans around the world that support Apocalyptica and know that the four of them deserve to be successful with anything they do, I knew that we could reach the target if we just tried. Even for those who can't afford to make a pledge, they are at least being supportive and are able to spread the word. At 99%, this project has only a few days max. to reach the goal and make this project a wonderful success. Apocalyptica! They rock....sometimes.

You guy's"APOCALYPTICA" are not only super talented but also have so much Heart and kindness to not only help raise money for Charities but share so many great photo's of 7th Symphony tour with us fan's! My family has fallen upon difficult times recently but if I can manage to pull together any extra money I will donate happily and "Special Merchandise" is not important, It's all about the Charities! So Rock on, I love you guy's!
