Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Hey guys, I'm Alejandra from Colombia...
My experience: In 2005 you guys played in "Rock al parque" in Bogota, Colombia, and me (and lot of people more) travelled for several hours to see you live. Personally I travelled for 13 hours by car to get there and when I got there you guys were playing the 5th or 6th song of the show! Anyways It was great, and for that I'm forever thankful!
SO, I have 2 questions :
1. ¿ Have you ever think on comming back to my country for a concert?
2. ¿ Why is it that you don't set a southamerican tour too?
Pliss think about the southamerican fans you have! We love you down here too!!!
Regards,
!
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Dear guys,
This is Ezgi(aka Revontuli:) ) from Istanbul, Turkey. Firstly, we're impatienlty waiting for your concert!
You guys are my reason to have discovered Finland. I first met your music, then found the source of your unique musical style and as I knew more about Finland, I understood much better that you get all your inspiration and power from its amazing beauty: Culture, nature, language and everything. So then I discovered the music of Sibelius... He means so much to me, his music is all Finnish, his notes are full of Finnish soul and stories. I wanted to know, you having studied at Sibelius Academy, what Jean Sibelius mean for you and if you're inspired by him and how.
Thank you for your music, for your originality and for being what you are right from the beginning of your career. You showed the whole world how to become one and great without ignoring your fans.
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Hi Apocalyptica!
I'm Irlanda from Mexico City.
Before I ask I must tell you that your concert here at the Metropolitan was awesome!
Congratulations..!
I really enjoy it
I hope you can return soon.
Ok. First of all...
1. For all the band.. In the page we have a section where we write about what we believe is a fan... but what is your idea about a fan?
2. Through the years there have been changes in music... You are such original that show to the world that isn't necessary to play a guitar or a keyboard or even a voice to create metal music or any kind of music... How do you feel about this big change and revolution you did through the years in all around the world?
3. For each of the members... The passion that you emit in each of your songs certainly is impressive. The feelings & emotions that your soul cries are conveyed every time to the audience that listen to you... but what would happen if for one day that passion and all your feelings disappear...? All your day starts by the way you live it... the hours pass minute by minute but you're still without inspiration... That feeling touring your body making you feel alive it can be accept because you feel your body and look at your reflection in the mirror but the fact is that you feel no life... The night falls and suddenly you wake up and realize that everything was just a dream... How would you feel about this dream where all your inspiration & senses were gone?
Sometimes we feel like the question #3 but the fact is that we really feel, just not at the grade we always do... but what would happen if we could really miss that sparkle that gives life and brightness to our lives?
Thanks for reading
Regards Guys
And remember to always smile...
With Love..
Irlanda.

Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Hello! I'm Sebastian from Chile.
Well my question is this.
Do you feel they are "destroying" or "diverting" classical learning the cello? Since many people are choosing to learn violoncello , to interpret only from Apocalyptica. Or similar causes.

Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
What we all want to know:
How do you headbang at the same time you play cello and not get your hair between the strings? And how hard was it to learn to play upside down?
You are amazing in concert! Come back to San Francisco!
(Oh, and I agree with the other comment: a song in Finnish would be interesting.)
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
What kind of Pickup and Amp's do you guys usually use, and how do you keep them from feeding back during shows?

Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Hi! I would like to ask, do you ever abandon an idea for a song or did you have any songs or ideas that just didn't make it to the albums? If yes, do you ever consider recycling the idea?
Greetings from Québec City
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
I think there's no need to say much about your amzing music, you know all these things already, otherwise we won't be here writing and thinking about questions for you
1. Something typically finnish is the Summer/Weekendcottage on an island or at a lake. Do you also have one of those cute little houses in the middle of nowhere?(I really like these cottages
) Or is there no need and time for it because you're so much on tour etc?
2. Do you have a favourite Rock/Metal Club in Helsinki like Tavastia or Dantes?

Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Hi guys I just wanted to ask you how you feel if you play very emotional songs on stage...is it difficult to play these when you are in a very good mood?
Are you able to speak German or just a few sentences? It's interesting why someone would like to learn this language
Hope to see you in Hamburg!

Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Hi. I'm more of a recent fan, although I've known about your band in a general way for years. After reading through a long, long list of comments and questions here, I'm genuinely curious about something: You do so many things, like posting pictures and videos of your "unguarded" moments, that help your fans to feel connected to you. This is great for the fans, but how does it make you feel when people write to you, or greet you, and already know so much about you (or think they do, anyway)? You come across as such friendly, open personalities, both individually and as a group, that your fans seem to feel like they know you personally, even if they have never seen a live performance. It's pretty amazing that you're able to achieve that (ah, the magic of the internet!), but I just wonder if it ever weirds you out a little that there are thousands of people out there who *think* they know you. Does it ever frustrate you, or make you feel like your privacy is invaded, or bother you when fans label your personalities based on a few video clips or snapshots?
Anyway, thanks for the opportunity to ask the question, and for the music. Your energy while performing is a real inspiration, and I hope to be able to see one of your shows in August.
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Hi guys!
I would like to know if any of you have found inspiration from past cellists (like Jacqueline du Pré or Pablo Casals) or from other classical musicians and why they inspired you.
Thank you for doing what you do; keep on doing it!

Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
To all 4 :
1. Where do you always get your inspirations for lyrics and video-storys?
When does it happen mostly... at home, on tour, in the bus, on stage, after gig...
2. Is there a "relationship" between the audience and you on stage in different countries ....
something that inspires you more?
Try to describe the special mood between audience and you.
Are they very different?
Thank You!
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
(1)What inspired you to become a band of Headbanging Hardrock Celloist?
(2)Why do you guys feel like the cello is so sexy??

Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Hello. We saw your gig at Rock Fest in Cadott Wisconsin USA and you rocked our faces off!! Headbanging heaven and so much more! Your talents are endless! We have two sons one (12) plays bass the other(14) violin and as soon as you come back to our midwest territory we are bringing them to watch you guys. I see you play at First Ave in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I pray they allow minors othrwise they will miss the privelege of seeing you guys.
My question will not get votes but my question is for my sons...can you get them in the establishment named to watch you? Young people today need to see the potential of orchestra. It is limitless what one can do with an instrument. I have already sent our middle school orchestra instructor (who is very cool) your website addy. I thank you for your time. Have a grateful day, Jacqie LaRock of Downsville, Wisconsin, USA
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Oh one more question =)
What language do you communicate more within the group in English or Finnish?
PS: Thank you very much for the concerts in Ukraine.
It was amazing.
I hope you will soon arrive with your new album!
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Hello guys!
First I want to congratulate Paavo happy birthday!
I wish you inner happiness, personal freedom, good health, love and joy.
Creative ideas, as well as time and effort for their implementation. =)
My questions:
1. Do you have a lot of songs recorded with different vocalists, from different countries.
Do you have a song in German and French. Songs recorded with Finnish singers.
Why are you so far no single song in Finnish? Why?
You have such a beautiful and interesting language.
I'd like to hear at least one song in Finnish! =))
Can we in Ukraine more patriotic perception.
But I'm very surprised that so far, you do not have a single song in your native language.
Correct!
2. Another similar patriotic issue.
))
Do not you think to try to make music with the motives of your ethnic Finnish songs?
3. What are your hobbies?
4. Where would you like to go to relax?
5. The question more to for Eicca.
Do you plan to still make music for the movies?
I really liked the movie "Black Ice", I revisited it many times.
Very beautiful music for such a strong, deep and amazing movie.
Thank you!
Sveta from Kiev. =)
"Rakastan sinua!"
П.С.: Sorry for my english, I hope you will understand my questions.
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Hi.. I LOVE APOCALYPTICA.
My questions are related to your songs with lyrics, since I also write :
1. In the processing of making a song with vocals. Do you have the same process when making this song than making a song without lyrics?. Are you in the making of a song and then, decide it will "sound better" with vocals? or does the song "born" (sort of speak) with lyrics? do you put the lyrics after the song is done with the instrumental version?. Do you MAKE the lyrics as well? or at least, do you participate with ideas or directions for the lyric when it's made?.
Finally, as a writer myself, I would like to ask you this: When creating a song/lyric/poem you are like fathering this art expression. It came from inside you; your ideas, your feelings or experiences so, in a way, they are like "your children" they have a part of you. So, when writing a lyric (or at least participate in the making of the lyric) can you say that, they were "born" from your heart/feelings/experiences? and that you (Apocalyptica) can relate with it?.
Thank You!! and KEEP ROOOCCCKKKKINNG!!!
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Hello! One question from me and one question from my husband:
1) What do you do to get 'revved' up before a show? You are all so full of energy when you hit the stage, even when you are probably exhausted. Do you do jumping jacks backstage or something?
2) Would you ever consider holding a contest where the winner gets to spend the entire day with you?
Thanks for your time!

Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
I don't have a question, but I just wanted to say that y'all gave me one of the greatest memories I'll ever have with my sons. I live in Texas and my 2 sons live in Michigan and when I asked what was one of the main things that they wanted to do while i was there and they said they wanted to go to the Apocalyptica concert in Pontiac. I'm a fan and I didn't know that they were, so I bought the tickets and we had an amazing time.
I can't wait to do it again.
Thanks.
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Hey guys,
I'd love to know:
*What instruments are you playing on? Do you have a violinmaker with you on tour? And do you play the same instrument on tour and when you're recording?
Being a violinmaker myself, I'd love to know whose instruments you admire.
Hope to see you soon in Austria!

Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Which is their favorite song of their own songs, and of other bands??
My favorite is Romance!!!
I wanted that you played that song in the concert at Metropolitan Theater because it's our song (of my boyfriend and I) and that day we turned a year and five months of being couple! It was the better anniversary. But was amazing anyway!!!!!

Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Hey guys!! Love your music and am so looking forward to getting the new album. And now a couple of questions for you...
1 - If you weren't involved in music, what other career would you like to pursue?
2 - What was the hardest part of making the new album? What was the funnest?
3 - When working on the songs that will become the singles, do you get involved in writing the lyrics?
4 - Are there songs hidden away that you haven't used on an album yet but would love to record? What's the hold up?
5 - When are you going to finally approach James Hetfield to do a collaboration?
Thanks guys for all that you do for us fans. See you in Chicago!

Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Have you ever thought play some songs with an orchestra?
Paavo: why you don't compose more songs? I love Dreamer, and I think it's so beautiful
Music is life ♪♫
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
So at first, I want to say you that you're amazing. Really. I love the mix between classic music and metal.
(I play violin and electric bass, so it's perfect.)
One question I wanted to make you is:
If you recibed any invitation of a little town somewhere... Would you come? I mean, if you don't have any concert in some other place, or something like that. Maybe the true question is: Would you like to come?
And how do you manage to play songs with other group's singers? Who writes the lyrics and the music? The singer, you, or you make it all together?
What is the group, composer, singer, etc you admire most? The one you like since you were little childs, or the one you admire now.
At last, I'm so sorry about my English. There would be some mistakes, I'm sorry.
You're better each day... Keep playing like that.
Hoping to see you playing near home.
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
What exactly is that motivates you all to keep doing what you guys do?
At the begining, do you guys ever thought that you would come so far?
If you could turn back time, would you guys do anything different? any regrets?
P.s.
Please guys come to Florida
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
What did you dream about when you were children?
What do you think about Apocalypse: will it happed in 2012? May be later?
What do you do with fans' gifts? Frankly speaking? =)
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
How difficult have been mixing your classical music with a more modern sound? In both (classical and modern music), there are some notorious differences that you have complemented very well, so I want to know if it has been hard doing this.
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Hello guys!
I have only one question:
Usually how many time do you need 'til an idea becomes a complete song? (Mostly instrumental songs, that one of the band members write alone, not together)
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
hello, i would like to know if any of you have ever banged your head on your cello whilst headbanging?

Hello Guys,

First of all, I have to say that I like the way you play the cello and drums.
The music is awesome!
I'm little because you did not come to Guadalajara, Mexico
But here you have the Questions:
Have you considered work with Sarah Brightman? I think it would be just great amazing!!
When you make your music, do you make it thinking in who might be singing the song? or you just already know who is going to sing the song?
Thank you!
Luv u!

Hey, my name is Pajtim, and I'm an Albanian from Kosovo.
Hey guys, thanx a lot for your awesome music. HMM I don't have several question, it's just I don't know what to ask. Except that you guys definitely 'reinvented' the cello you also are great inspiration to me. I have two main questions:
1) How difficult is to make an album and how much time does it usually take?
2)When will you collaborate with James Hetfield, the great James?
3)Will you guys come in tour someday in Albania or Kosovo?
4)And Eicca what things do you use to keep your hair and give them an awesome look
Cuz I love you guys and I adore your music so much. When I heard "Stroke" from Worlds Collide it was like a deja vu to me for that song. hahahah. May God give you health for many upcoming years so you will grant us with your beautiful music. I wanted to ask many questions but because it is limited I think I tried to bring the main ones up. give us some quotes down here

All things in nature are lyrical in their ideal essence, comic in their existence and tragic in their fate?
Re: APOCALYPTICA 3x4: YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE BAND!
Hi guys! First of all, thank you for your music, it helps me a lot these days. My questions are:
1. How do you place your roots in your music? Do you think if you weren't Finnish you would have the same inspiration? (I know it seems dumb but I notice there's an atmospehre in your music that I don't find in any other, so I'm thinking it's linked to your country)
2. How do you feel when fans tell you your music helped them through rough times?
3. Eicca, after all these years, how the hell do you still find that inspiration?? I want your brain!
4. Have you ever thought of doing a collaboration with Tony Kakko? (it will be awesome...just saying...)
That's about it, you guys ROCK, I can't wait to see you play (already got my ticket for Paris in October...)
Bye,
have a nice day!
